Trade & Industrial
At Chiltern Blast Cleaning, the core of our work and business has been in providing surface preparation, coatings and finishings to the industrial sector for over 30 years.
The vast range of work we have completed in that time has included everything from sandblasting and powdercoating large batches of machinery components, refurbishing panel work for compressors, to preparing and wet spray painting newly fabricated, industrial scissor lifts weighing over 4 tonnes.
We truly understand the importance of durability and quality when it comes to all forms of machinery, plant and equipment, and we strive to provide high quality coatings, communication and service.

We are approved applicators for Interpon/Cromadex paint and powdercoating products, and also 'Zinga', a high performance cold galvanic coating that can give up to 30 years c5M protection
As our specialist area, we have always worked closely with our customers, to establish exactly what they’re requirements are, what level of treatment they need, and the wide range of work we have completed previously allows us to suggest and formulate comprehensive methods and products to match, to achieve the goal.
Below are just a few examples of work we complete for our regular customers, with a brief methodology behind the finished results.
01
Hydraulic Scissor lifts
As these hydraulic lifts have to be painted assembled, blast cleaning is not an option. We abrade all surfaces, before thoroughly solvent cleaning, to remove as much grease and oil as possible. All water creep joints are then sealed.
Finally, we apply a 2-coat wet paint system, using Cromadex 395 anti-corrosive primer, followed by Cromadex 891 topcoat, a hard wearing 2pk Acrylic paint used for commercial vehicles, available in a range of colours.
All of the parts, such as gates, safety props and handrails are prepared in the same way, and then powdercoated with a similar 2 coat system with powder primer and topcoat, to match the rest of the machine
02
Industrial Mixer castings
We mask all critical machined faces that do not require coating. A thin coat of acid etch primer is then applied, to provide a strong base for the following work to adhere to.
We then use a combination of primer fillers and body fillers to build out the lumps and imperfections.
Once the castings have reached an suitable standard, we apply a final coat of primer for a uniform finish.
03
Sensor/Control boxes
This customer came to us after having consistent problems with the existing coating on these boxes being brittle., and the finish quality generally being inadequate. We diagnosed the problem as poor adhesion between the die cast aluminium boxes and powdercoat. due to a lack of preparation, with no primer used either.
To combat this, we suggested introducing a very light brush blast to key the surface of the boxes, before applying a thin coat of anti-gas powder primer, followed by finished topcoat in RAL 3004. The customer is much happier with both the durability and quality of the finish.
04
Anti-Slip / Grit deck flooring
We can apply specialist anti-slip flooring solutions to a range of projects like lifting platforms or staircase treads.
